We are pleased to announce the launch of Athena AI, our new AI-powered assistant designed to help you quickly locate and retrieve information and documentation from our internal libraries. Athena AI is now available via Marlow Resources > Athena AI and provides access to a wide range of resources, including Argo and SharePoint document libraries (covering STCW & PSC, Seafarer Welfare, Ports & Port Agents, Travel, Visa & Customs, Seafarer Employment Agreement, English Test, Cabotage, MLC/ILO, QMS, Flag State, and more).
What makes Athena AI different?
Unlike traditional search tools that simply return links to documents, Athena AI will attempt to answer your question directly based on the information it finds. For example, if you ask about the validity of yellow fever vaccinations, Athena AI will respond:
“The validity of a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever has been extended from 10 years to the life of the vaccinated person. This change was adopted by the World Health Assembly in May 2014 and came into force on July 11, 2016.”
In addition, it will provide a link to the relevant source document (e.g., circular CDV-00-060).

Key Features:
- Search across all enabled document sources without needing to select them individually.
- Supports TXT, PDF, HTML, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, and XLSM files (with limited support for some formats).
- Direct access to referenced documents via index numbers in the search results.
- Ability to refine your search with follow-up questions for deeper insights.
- The database is updated monthly, with a current knowledge cutoff of 3 January 2026.
